Tempestive reportPortlet is a portlet for WebSphere Portal which allows you to generate report from data stored in database tables or recovered from a java class.
Report can be generated in different format: pdf, html, xls, csv. The engine of the portlet is JasperReports. The portlet is expected to have available the report layout in jrxml format. The compilation of the file in the format required by the reporting engine will be done by the portlet. This one has all the functions of the application JasperReport: page layout, data grouping and so on. The Portlet automatically detects wheter the report requires parameters and presents a page where user must insert values for esch of the required paramters
To use Tempestive reportPortlet you have to enter the portlet configuration, configure data source (database or personalized class which give data of interest), data source for the connection to database, file with the definition of the report and of the display format layout.
If in the report layout are expected parameters, clicking on on tab “Params” you can define more info and aspects, you can also decide the possibility to enclose value between apex ( ‘…’), to add or not ‘%’ to value previously insert by user.

User can choose parameters to set the report from a list of defined data source and query. In this page the query done by the reporting engine for the composition of the report will be always visible: this allows the administrator to contextualize the parameters that are setting up.
The interface of the portlet is intuitive and simple. On the first page you can find all the parameters required by the report. User has to set the value for each parameter and launch the report creation.
In a few minutes the report appears with the pagination functions activated so users can export reports in PDF, xls and CSV file.
